If you haven't been to Japan, this is as close to a Japanese garden as you can get in the western hemisphere. It is authentic, the Mon (gate) itself is a sight outside of Japan.

Did you know? Hakone was established in 1915, making it the oldest Japanese and Asian estate garden in the Western Hemisphere. The garden is named after Japan's Fuji-Hakone National Park.

Friendly staff, beautiful well-kept gardens, lots of healthy koi, an awe-inspiring bamboo forest, and giftshop with Miyazaki and Zen items. Perfect alternative date spot or place to refresh the mind.
